P&B Lime Works of Bredasdorp
has been producing quality lime since 1924. At first the company focused
on calcining limestone into lime for the building industry. In 1935 it
started producing its renowned P&B Agricultural Lime. Production of
P&B Animal Feed Lime followed in 1995. Since 1998 the company has
been using modern, environmentally friendly technology to calcine the
limestone, which is mined on the premises. There are sufficient deposits
of calcium carbonate in the mine to ensure supplies for about 300 years.
