P&B Water Purification Lime is used for clarifying and purifying domestic and general purpose water.

Home use:Place some P&B Water Purification Lime in a hessian bag and suspend it in the water, or sprinkle a quantity of the lime over the surface.

Animals' drinking water: If the water is deficient in lime, suspend a couple of hessian bags filled with P&B Water Purification Lime in a dam. Or place a single hessian bag with the lime bag in a trough.

Approximately 40% of all surface waters and virtually all the groundwaters in South Africa have a low pH, low alkalinity and low calcium.

This makes the water aggressive to concrete and corrosive to metals, so it attacks pipes, conduits and reservoirs - with costly consequences. Corrosive attack on metal conduits and valves can decrease water quality when the levels of dissolved metal corrosion products rise to above the standard drinking water requirements. 

The CSIR  - in conjunction with P&B - has developed a small scale unit for groundwater treatment,  which uses P&B Aquastab™ - a limestone product.
